Balenciaga Speed Trainer

Less is more when it comes to design — or so we've been told. The Balenciaga Speed Trainer puts that rule to the test. Made in Italy and resembling a lost prop from a '70s sci-fi production, they have a knit sock for an upper, a textured memory sole, and not much else. They weigh in at just over half a pound, so they're certainly on the lighter side of things, and while the name suggests they'd be good for active use, it's up to you how "active" you want to get in all-white sneakers that cost as much as a decent TV.

  • Adidas Stan Smith PC Wool Sneakers

When you see a pair of Stan Smiths, they are typically clad in leather from heel to toe. But with the chill of winter invading, even one of the most iconic sneakers of all-time has to prepare for the cold. The Adidas Stan Smith PC Wool Sneakers are equipped for the season, featuring a warm wool upper and leather lining that add to the comfort. As always, these sneakers look the part, continuing the Stan Smith tradition, but with a warm winter coat to help keep the weather at bay.
