Being chosen for a spot in the redesigned Petersen Automotive Museum would be "special" enough, but the ICON FJ44 Petersen Special is also notable for being the company's one hundredth custom Land Cruiser. For the occasion, ICON has updated the original FJ40 in a number ways, most obviously expanding the body to include four doors, an adaptation made possible by a custom mandrel-bent Art Morrison frame and hand-crafted aluminum body finished with a polyester hybrid powder coat. A Chevy-sourced 6.2L supercharged V8 provides 530 hp, transferred to the beefy wheels via a 4-speed transmission. It packs tunable Fox Racing shocks, Brembo brakes, and a refined suspension for off-road prowess, while the interior keeps you comfortable with a Vintage Air Gen IV HVAC system routed through anodized aluminum vents, heated seats with Chilewich woven inserts, and a CarPlay-compatible Pioneer touch screen head unit. On display through this fall.
