Re-Purposed File Knives

They started life as farriers and metal working files. Now these Re-Purposed File Knives are ready to hand duties better suited to a kitchen. Made from carbon steel, they're forged, re-heat-treated, and ground to extreme sharpness. The file patterns of the original tool are visible on the grip and carried through to the top of the blade. Each knife is unique and takes up to 10 weeks to craft and deliver, while pricing is based on the desired blade shape.

  • CRKT Homefront Knife

Thanks to an ingenious design from legendary knife maker Ken Onion, the CRKT Homefront Knife is the first from the company to let you completely disassemble and reassemble it without any tools. When the knife is closed, you just pull the front release away from the blade and spin the release wheel away from the pivot to release the aluminum handle and gain access to the interior. This lets you clear away any nastiness the 3.5-inch stainless steel drop point blade has picked up throughout the day, ensuring the knife is always ready for duty.

  • Opinel DIY Knife

Born in France in the late 1800s, Opinel's knives have served as essential EDC gear for everyone from Picasso to Paul Bocuse. The Opinel DIY Knife honors this tradition while adding a new trick of its own. Hidden inside the high-quality plastic handle are a pair of bits that fit into a slot at the end opposite the folding mechanism, letting this versatile piece function as both a screwdriver and knife without sacrificing the company's signature silhouette.
