Atari VCS Entertainment System

Modeled after the classic 2600 console, the Atari VCS — formerly known as the Ataribox — is far more than just another retro-gaming cash grab. While exact specs are still unknown, it is clear that the VCS will have capabilities beyond playing 2600 and 5200 games, as apps for major video and music streaming services are planned, as is an open Linux-based OS. Another hint to its true intentions lies in the preview image, which shows both a classic single-button joystick and a fully modern, dual analog stick controller. Pricing is yet to be announced, but pre-orders are expected to open soon.
