Athletic Propulsion Labs Concept X Basketball Shoes

In 2010, twin brothers Adam and Ryan Goldston created the Concept 1, a basketball shoe that — thanks to literal springs embedded in the forefoot — was banned by the NBA for offering an unfair advantage. Just over 10 years later, their company Athletic Propulsion Labs is back and building on that legacy. The Concept X is built with a full-length carbon fiber plate that helps transfer energy, set atop 10 strategically-placed coil springs that can lift the wearer up to three inches higher into the air when jumping. Atop of this technology sits a responsive, lightweight FutureFoam midsole, a full-length stretch bootie, and woven Exolock overlays made from various thread materials and cords to provide enhanced support and a lockdown fit.
