Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Flying Tourbillon Openworked Sand Gold Watch
Almost every gold watch is crafted from an alloy meant to enhance the precious metal's strength, often changing the color in the process. By mixing it with palladium, Audemars Piguet has created 18k sand gold, an alloy that subtly changes color depending on the light. It's employed for the first time in the Royal Oak Selfwinding Flying Tourbillon Openworked, both in the 41mm case and in the bridges and mainplate of Calibre 2972 movement, visible from both the front and exhibition back. To provide contrast, the applied hour markers and lume-filled Royal Oak hands are rendered in white gold; it's finished with a matching 18k sand gold bracelet.
