Avatarin Space Avatar

Spending time in space is probably not in your future, but this experience from a Japanese aerospace group might be the next best thing. Avatarin and JAXA have teamed up to develop a space avatar that will launch about the H-II Transfer Vehicle (HTV9) "KOUNOTORI9" and be installed near a window. The world's first publicly controlled remote camera will be operated from the ground and give people the unique experience of viewing the Earth from aboard the International Space Station. Planned future phases of the project will also include spheroid robot assistants to help the ISS crew carry out missions.
