A few days before the premiere of the documentary Exit Through the Gift Shop in 2010, a Banksy piece appears on a building in Downtown Los Angles. The 12 by 33-foot mural titled 'Girl on a Swing' portrays a young girl swinging from the letter "A" on a sign that reads "PARKING." After filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy, the owners are now selling the artwork and the 100-year-old building it's attached to. Built in 1914, the 26,000-square-foot building is situated on Broadway in the Fashion District and is famous in its own right, having appeared in the 1923 silent film Safety Last! Alone, the property is estimated at $16 million, while the painting adding another $10 million in revenue. Hilco Real Estate is overseeing the sale, and bidding will close on October 20, 2022.
