Barn Find 1972 BMW 3.0 CS
The E9 coupe helped cement BMW's reputation as "The Ultimate Driving Machine". Produced from 1968 to 1975, the E9 formed the basis for the 3.0 CSL "batmobile" and dominated the European Touring Car Championship and wild German Deutsche Rennsport Meisterschaft. This example was purchased by the current owner as a non-running project and has spent the last 24 years in storage. A little dusty if well-preserved, the car shows 86,000 miles on the odometer and comes with a period-correct carburated 3-liter inline-six spare motor. Those interested in a new project can bid on the auction at Bring a Trailer.
