Basil Hayden Toast Bourbon

In 1992, Jim Beam released the iconic Small Batch collection to a market that rarely thought beyond the bottom shelf. Basil Hayden was a centerpiece in that release and continues to be a gateway pour between inexpensive and premium bourbons. The Basil Hayden line is thinking big again by creating an entirely new mash bill for the nearly 30-year-old brand. The new bourbon uses American-grown brown rice for added sweetness and less spice. A secondary toasted barrel finish draws out notes of caramelized sugar and gives the new spirit its name. The new permanent expression is packaged in familiar bottles with an updated monogrammed belt that nods to the metal hoops on bourbon barrels.
