Bergaliv Hotel
Rising above the treetops on the Åsberget mountains, the Bergaliv Hotel has finished the first of four lofted cabins. The 33-foot tall stilted structure is constructed from a mixture of heart-pine and spruce, situated on a former ski slope. The interior offers accommodations for two on the lower level. Sheathed in raw birch plywood, the modest space carries a minimalist aesthetic consisting of just a simple kitchenette, dual window seat, and living area that also doubles as sleeping quarters. Above, a viewing platform rests below a gabled roof. Stripped of any barriers to the outdoors, the open-air space affords near endless views of the Ljusnan River valley below.
