&Beyond Sossusvlei Desert Lodge

Located within Africa's only Dark Sky Reserve, the &Beyond Sossusvlei Desert Lodge is taking advantage of its naturally dim location with ten new sustainable suites. A 10-month overhaul brings 1,400-square-foot rooms wrapped almost entirely in glazing, maximizing views of the desert landscape while skylights above the bed offer prime celestial vistas. Each suite is minimally decked out in local furnishes and features private verandas with plunge pools, fire pits, and outdoor showers. During the day, guests can hop on a quad or e-bike and shred the dunes or float above the sand on a hot air balloon safari. For a more traditional approach, there are also desert game drives. The resort will officially reopen on October 16, 2019.
