Blancpain Fifty Fathoms Automatique 42mm Watch

First introduced in 1953, the Blancpain Fifty Fathoms disappeared for decades before returning to the lineup in 2007 — in a too-large-for-some 45mm case. Now the company is making it available in a more wearable 42mm size with the ref. 5010 line. The new offerings arrive with grade 5 titanium or red gold cases, paired with a sunburst black or navy blue dial, and with various strap options. All the variants are powered by the Calibre 1315 automatic movement, visible through an exhibition caseback, running the hour, minute, and second hands as well as a date window at 4:30. Joining the date on the dial are applied and lumed Arabic numerals and arrow hour markers; when paired with the lumed hands and bezel, they keep the watch readable while taking advantage of the watch's 300m water resistance rating.
