Boom Overture Supersonic Jet

Since the Concorde made its last flight in 2003, the world hasn't had a commercial supersonic passenger jet. Advances in materials and design have revived efforts for a next-generation supersonic transport, and Boom is leading the way with the Overture. The Overture seats 65-80 passengers with four turbojet engines in pods underneath a compound delta wing. A compound gullwing design overcomes the traditional delta wing's limitations, such as low-speed stability, while improving aerodynamic efficiency to minimize fuel consumption and make the jet economically viable. The Overture has an estimated range of 4,250 nautical miles and will cruise at an altitude of 60,000 feet and Mach 1.7. Boom has commitments for 76 aircraft, with the plane expected to achieve its type certificate in 2029.
