Although highly functional, the Blackline Boards are almost too beautiful to use. The display-worthy cutting boards are handmade from white oak at Blackcreek Mercantile & Trading Co.'s Kingston, New York studio. Their monochromatic hue is the result of a natural reactive process. The technique develops the wood's natural tannic acid yielding a durable, food-safe dye free of any pigments. If you choose to use it for your prep work, the finish will wear over time creating a one-of-a-kind patina.

It's sculpted form is hand-carved from sustainably harvested domestic hardwoods using techniques that create little waste. An oxidized process gives the tool its dark hue, a finish that is food safe and will naturally patina over time. Crafted from white oak, each piece is handmade in the United States.
