Australian firm Bury Design aims to redefine the tender with the 79-foot Inception 24 concept. Taking inspiration from racing yachts, the Inception 24 uses a narrow, lightweight hull coupled with an onboard gyro stabiliserto both increase speed and minimize roll. Power comes from a hybrid diesel-electric propulsion combo, providing up to an hour of silent sailing or longer depending on speed. A high-speed foil hull will be offered with speeds up to 40 knots. The layout is designed for up to four people on overnight voyages, or 12 for day trips, along with two crew. While a concept, founder and naval architect Paul Bury expects to see the Inception sailing soon.
