Smartphone cameras are so good that any standalone device needs to make a very strong statement to prove its worth. Most do so with much larger sensors and a bevy of outstanding lenses. The Canon PowerShot V10 does so with simplicity. Recalling the Flip cameras of old, it's built to be a one-button vlogging machine. The screen flips up, letting the videographer see themselves while filming, and has a built-in stand that makes tripods unnecessary (although there's still a thread on the bottom). The 4K CMOS sensor measures 1" — larger than nearly any smartphone — and is paired with a 19mm equivalent lens to keep everything in frame.
