Both of Chanel's Monsieur watches have been powered by the in-house Caliber 1 movement. The last one even had a black dial. Yet the Monsieur Edition Noire is still unique. Instead of gold or platinum, its 42mm case is crafted from black ceramic and paired with a matte black dial. The minutes are still displayed in a large 240-degree sub-dial at the top, the seconds on a much smaller dial in the center, and the hours in a window at the bottom. The hand-wound movement, with its 72-hour power reserve, is visible through a crystal caseback, with an outer ring that denotes its status as one of just 55 examples produced.
