Claude Monet's Nympheas

Painted in the late 1890s, Claude Monet's Nymphéas is among the earliest works from the impressionist's iconic Water Lilies series. It remained in the Monet family for many years and will be auctioned by Christie's as part of their 20th/21st Century Inaugural Evening Sale at The Henderson in Hong Kong on September 26th. While four other works from this early series are held by renowned museums worldwide, this work comes from an esteemed private collection and is making its first appearance at auction; the work measures roughly 29" by 40" and is signed "Claude Monet" on both the front and back.
