Daniel Arsham: Time Dilation
New York-based artist Daniel Arsham is currently showing his latest works at the Perrotin gallery. Entitled Time Dilation, the exhibit juxtaposes sculptures of ancient gods and goddesses from Arsham's collaboration with the august RMN-Grand Palais with Pokémon characters. The mythical beings from both eras have been given Arsham's signature erosion treatment and are set with geological materials. Occupying three floors, the installation also includes a series of paintings that drop his classical figures in monochromatic landscapes, as well as colorful resin pieces made from transparent magazines, VHS tapes, and cereal boxes scattered across LED light displays. The exhibit can be viewed by appointment until February 20, 2021.
