Diple Smartphone Microscope

Smartphones are powerful imaging tools for large-scale and even small-scale subjects. The Diple lets them capture moments at the micro-scale, as well. The portable system consists of a box that contains a light source, a stage for samples and slides, and a metal plate containing a lens. Two stages are available: a standard stage that allows for manual maneuvering of samples and a fine stage with mechanical screws that can precisely manipulate slides. Likewise, there are three different color-coded magnification plates, ranging from 35x to 150x in power, with those numbers amplified by any built-in zoom available via the phone itself. As a result, it can capture high-resolution photos and videos of microscopic subjects such as cells and bacteria, nearly anywhere on Earth.
