Do Angels Need Haircuts?
Lou Reed quit the Velvet Underground in 1970 after their third album. Between his departure and the start of his solo career two years later, he moved back in with his parents in Long Island and worked as a typist in his father's tax accounting firm. In his spare time, he wrote poetry. Do Angels Need Haircuts? is a look into that period and includes Reed's poems, photographs of the musician, and a previously unreleased recording of Reed reciting some of his writing at St. Mark's Church in New York's East Village in 1971. The book is the first to be released by the Lou Reed Archive since his death in 2013.
