Emmanuel Gueit's Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore Watch

Audemars Piguet's Royal Oak redefined the sport watch when it was released in 1972. Less than two decades later, their in-house designer Emmanuel Gueit was tasked with updating it. The result was the Royal Oak Offshore, and this was Gueit's personal example. The 39th produced, it has the signature octagonal shape and tappisserie dial of the original, rendered here in a classic blue. Its 42mm size, revolutionary at its 1993 release, is much more common now, and aside from its notable owner, it's also one of only 100 to omit the "Offshore" name on the caseback. It's finished with a matching stainless bracelet that carries Gueit's original clasp design, which was omitted from early releases but eventually used in later models, and will be accompanied by sketches of the design drawn by Gueit himself.
