Escend Blades has introduced the first electric inline skates. The voltage boost comes from a set of motorized wheels powered by two silent 400W hub motors. The electronics and batteries are housed in an aerospace-aluminum-bodied platform and controlled by a wireless remote, allowing riders to stop, go, and switch into reverse. A single four-hour charge can keep them moving for up to 9 miles, while the blades are capable of hitting a top speed of 16 mph and climbing a 20-degree incline. Riders can opt to use their own boots or bundle with Doop or Metro boots.
