Ford F-150 Lightning Electric Truck
Electric vehicles have officially reached the mainstream, with the best-selling vehicle in America now available as an EV — the Ford F-150 Lightning. You don't fix what isn't broken, and Ford has largely left the exterior styling unchanged, with a large LED light strip wrapping a solid grille insert — just to make sure you know what's providing the power. As far as power, 563 horsepower and 775 lb-ft of torque are on tap from dual electric motors and two battery pack options. That makes for 230 miles of range from the standard pack and 300 miles for the Extended Range version. Performance numbers weren't released, but Ford claims a mid-four second 0-60 time, making it on-par with the Raptor and slightly faster than the last Lightning in 2004. With no ICE under the hood, a massive frunk takes its place, along with the ability to tow up to 10,000 pounds. The Lightning goes on sale in Spring 2022.
