Ford Self-Braking Shopping Cart

In an effort to make parents' trips to the grocery store a little less trying, Ford is bringing its Pre-Collision Assist tech to an unlikely place: the shopping cart. It uses a sensor to scan for people and objects ahead, and automatically apply the brakes if a potential collision looms. Not just good for the ankles of shoppers in the store, it would no doubt also keep many cars in the parking lot from picking up unnecessary dings. Unfortunately for us all, it's still just a prototype.
