Google Assistant

Google's Assistant has been around for years, but now it's getting a game-changing feature: the ability to serve as a real-life assistant. Leveraging the company's work in AI, it will soon be able to call businesses masquerading as a human in order to book appointments, make reservations, or simply get business hours. While there's certainly a slight "creep" factor in hearing a virtual person making natural sounding pauses and "Ummm"s when speaking, it's likely the convenience will outweigh the drawbacks. The feature is expected to roll out in beta form later this year.
