Email is a technological marvel. It can also be a pain in the rear. Hey is a new service from the makers of Basecamp that rethinks our relationship with email. For starters, you select who can contact you — all emails to your new hey.com address land in a screening zone. Don't want email from a particular sender? Hit "no", and you'll never hear from them again. Emails from approved accounts go into three separate places: the Imbox, for important mails, the Feed, for things like newsletters, the Paper Trail, for things like receipts that need filed away but aren't pressing. Other features like Reply Later, an attachment library, and subject renaming all combine to create an experience that's far more than what a traditional client can offer.
