Anthony Bourdain advised that any chef only needs three knives — a chef's, paring, and serrated. Inspired by this philosophy, Hinoki created a collection of essential knives. Each blade is meticulously forged in Seki, Japan by master craftsmen and descendants of samurai swordsman. Made from three layers of carbon steel, the set ensures cooks are always prepared with tools that together can easily slice through bread and carve meats, prep fish and fruits, and peel and mince herbs and vegetables. For a custom look, pieces are available with a brushed-chrome or obsidian black finish and an ebony or walnut ergonomic handle while the owner's initials are etched on the blade. Vegetable-tanned leather sheaths are available for the bread and chef's knife for safe storage while not in use.
