House Rondinone

Conceived by Swiss artist Ugo Rondinone as a Gesamtkunstwerk, House Rondinone is a livable art exhibit. The timber prefabrication sits on a wooded plot in Switzerland. The inside is like a curation of his work with everything from the lattice windows to the furniture being custom-made by its creator. Many pieces are inspired by his art, including the fireplace which is a replica of his piece "John's Fireplace". Although most of the interior carries a neutral palette, a pair of kelly green staircases connect the two floors. Skylights bathe the space in natural light, while glazed doors open up to multiple terraces that lend to views of the serene forest setting and nearby stream.
