There are a lot of companies currently working on eVTOL aircraft. Most are focused on building multi-passenger air taxis. NeXt is going in a different direction with the iFly. Designed for personal use, it has only one seat and is fully autonomous, requiring nothing more of the passenger than to select their destination. Its software calculates wind speed, altitude, and the energy it needs to safely power its eight guarded propellers to reach the desired spot. Redundant flight systems all it to fly safely even with a motor out, and a ballistic parachute will automatically deploy in a worst-case scenario. Currently under development, no release timeline has yet been set.
