Forget what you think you know about country clubs. Inness Retreat if moving away from the stuffy dress codes and overly manicured greens to reimagine the traditional golf getaway. Its 9-hole course is designed by the minds behind Sweetens Cove in Tennessee, King Collins Golf, and integrates the fairways into the natural flora of the Catskills. In between holes, guests can indulge in seasonal offerings from the restaurant, hit the tennis courts, cool off in the swimming pools, or hike through the bucolic property. For overnight guests, 40 guests rooms are split between a 12-room colonial-style farmhouse and 28 private cabins. Each one offers mountain vistas and access to the communal lobby bar, library room, and game room.
