When IWC launched the Pilot's Watch Chronograph Edition in 2018, it was an exclusive for graduates of the Navy Fighter Weapons School, also known as Top Gun. Now, the watchmaker is releasing a civilian version of the watch in limited numbers. The SFTI (Strike Fighter Tactics Instructor) edition of the watch features a 44 mm case made of black zirconium oxide ceramic to provide unparalleled toughness, while the pushers and case back utilize Ceratanium, a material as light as titanium but as hard to scratch as ceramic. And while there are many similarities to the 2018 watch, the SFTI adds plenty of red accents to the black dial, and even the pushers, most interesting of which is the inclusion of a red tip on the lower part of the chronograph seconds hand in the shape of a Navy jet. The chronograph is powered by IWC-manufactured 69380 caliber movement and finished with a military-themed green NATO strap.
