Jaquet Droz Signing Machine

Built to celebrate the brand's 280th anniversary, the Signing Machine is a callback to the work of company founder Pierre Jaquet-Droz. Considered by some to be the world's first computers, his automata animated dolls mesmerized the aristocracy of the day. The signing machine carries on this legacy of mechanical problem solving by replicating a person's signature down to the movement of the pen using a complex series of 585 parts, assembled and finished by hand. So too is the programming of the signature — done by coding its imprint on three cams — carried out by hand, making each one as unique as its personalized decorative elements.
