Jeep CJ Surge EV Concept
As the world moves towards electric mobility, there will no doubt be demand for battery-based conversions of classic vehicles. Jeep agrees, as evidenced by the CJ Surge concept. It has a 400-volt, 200-kW Electric Drive Module mounted under the hood, powered by 24 lithium-ion battery modules mounted in the back of the passenger cabin. Power is run through a two-speed Jeep transfer case with selectable gearing, helping to maintain off-road capabilities. On display at the 2022 SEMA show in Las Vegas, the concept is clad in Copper Canyon paint with glossy black and surf blue accents, sits on 35-inch BFGoodrich all-terrain tires courtesy of a 2-inch lift, and is outfitted with all manner of JPP accessories.
