Joe DiMaggio's Patek Philippe 130 Chronograph Watch

In 1941, Joe DiMaggio got a hit in 56 straight games for the New York Yankees, a record that still stands. The Yankees are believed to have given him this Patek Philippe Reference 130 chronograph in 1948, and a 1949 photo of DiMaggio with actress Myrna Dell at New York's Stork Club appears to show it on his wrist. The 33mm case is 18-karat yellow gold and may never have been polished, and the dial is marked with hand-cut Breguet numerals, a classic style with rounded, open strokes. DiMaggio kept the watch until his death in 1999, and his estate sold it in 2006 to benefit the Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital Foundation. It has had only three owners and is now for sale.
