John Lennon's Lost 1965 'Help!' Guitar
The guitar John Lennon played on one of the Beatles' most famous records and heard in classic songs like 'Help!' 'You've Got To Hide Your Love Away', 'It's Only Love' and 'I've Just Seen A Face' has resurfaced after more than 50 years. This Framus Hootenanny 12-string fell into the possession of Gordon Waller of Peter & Gordon, who would later give it to his road managers. From there, the guitar was placed in an attic in the British countryside where it would lay unplayed until discovered as the homeowners were moving. Second in importance only to Paul McCartney's lost 1961 Hofner violin bass, the guitar is set to be auctioned via Juliens Auctions in May at their New York City event.
