John Oates' 1960 Porsche 356 Coupe
John Oates, half of superstar rock act Hall & Oates, just took delivery of a custom 1960 356 from Porsche specialists Emory Motorsports. Based on Emory's high-performance Outlaw 356, an Emory-designed and built 2.6 liter Outlaw-4 flat-four, an improved version of the Porsche original, powers the car through a 911 five-speed transmission. The chassis has been updated with a 911 independent rear suspension and Koni coilover shocks and Emory disc brakes at all four corners. The front bodywork is slightly revised for better aerodynamics and black billet wheels styled like the 356 originals are clad in sticky Pirelli P-Zero tires. The interior has 356 Speedster-style seats covered in Hyde leather with basketweave inserts, with new retro-styled gauges and a wood-rimmed steering wheel. Emory's Outlaw 356s are the best of both worlds — beautiful 356 looks with modern-day performance and comforts.
