メリダの街には、ユカタン半島の文化の中心地に発展した豊かな植民地時代の遺産があります。ワークショップアーキテクトは、過去と現在を融合させて、メキシコ国際照明フェスティバルのためにフィラックスアート研究所を設立しました。イベントスペースは、元植民地時代の家を占有しています。構造物の歴史的特徴の多くは手付かずのまま残されており、現代の展示や芸術作品のアンティークな背景として機能しています。中央のテラスでは、外側の複雑な格子が建物に光と影を落とし、独自の光の展示を作成します。
