Justin Roiland's mypeoplefriend
Justin Roiland already has a full resume — voice actor, animator, writer, producer, and director — and now he's adding artist to the mix. The Rick and Morty co-creator unveiled his first painting mypeoplefriend at a contemporary art sale for Sotheby's. Created in May of 2021, the acrylic on canvas piece depicts a colorful array of characters with bulging eyes and varying expressions. It's been compared to the works of Jean Dubuffet from the 1960s and garnered an impressive final bid during the auction. The effort is a follow-up to Roiland's NFT art collection, The Best I Could Do, which sold for $1.65 million.
