Kachi Lodge

With its flat, white surface and surrounding mountain formations, the alien landscapes of the Uyuni Salt Flats are the perfect backdrop to the futuristic Kachi Lodge. Each solar-powered pod is situated on a wooden platform and features a private bathroom and double bed looking out onto the surreal setting. But there won't be much time for resting, the day starts with a morning hike to a cactus-covered island followed by a trip to visit the mummies of Coquesa or the archeological site of Alcaya. If you're really feeling adventurous, trek to the lower lip of the Tunupa volcano crater.
