Ken Miles' Shelby Mustang GT350R Prototype

Before the Shelby Mustang became a luxury grand tourer, there was the one that started it all — the GT350. A bare-bones, track-focused racer, the GT350 was built to turn as good as it accelerated. 34 GT350R models were built alongside the 1965 GT350s as SCCA-legal B Production race cars, going on to win three straight years. This GT350R is the mother of them all — the prototype driven by Ken Miles, Bob Bondurant, and a host of other well-known drivers over the years. Known but its chassis number 5R002, the car has a fully-documented ownership and racing history, along with copious amounts of paperwork, photos, and even signatures on the trunk lid. The most important Mustang in history, 5R002 will go to auction in Kissimmee, Florida, January 2022.
