Kurt Cobain's In Utero Guitar

Late Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain was known for his preference for custom Fender guitars, from his dream Jagstang to this custom Mustang. Played by Cobain during the 1993 In Utero tour, it was built by Scott Zimmerman, who also built the necks for the first two Jagstangs. 10 of the custom left-handers were ordered, but only six were actually delivered. This particular example was further customized by Cobain's guitar tech with a black Seymour Duncan JB pickup and a Gotoh Tune-o-Matic bridge. Dubbed the "Skystang III", it was gifted to a fan by Courtney Love just months after Kurt's death and was displayed at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame for nearly ten years. It will be auctioned off by Julien's later this month.
