Light Flip Phone

Kaiwei Tang helped design the Motorola Razr more than twenty years ago, and now he's building a phone meant to encourage unplugging instead of scrolling. The Light Flip pairs a 2.8-inch OLED display with a 12-button keypad and T9 predictive text, replacing an outer screen with a single notification light. Inside: a MediaTek MT8873 chip, 6GB of RAM, 128GB of storage, and a replaceable 1,800mAh battery good for about a day and a half. It runs LightOS, the operating system behind the Light Phone III, stripped of browsers and social apps but keeping calls, texts, and a 50-megapixel camera. Folded shut, it measures 4.3 x 2.3 x 0.7 inches and weighs 5.6 ounces, small enough for a pocket or a keychain loop. It's the flip phone Gen Z asked for, minus the flimsy plastic they complained about.
