Marilyn Monroe x Douglas Kirkland Prints & Camera
Two of the most famous photographs ever taken of the late Marilyn Monroe are coming up at auction, along with the camera used to take the iconic shots. The photos were shot by Douglas Kirkland in 1961 for Look Magazine's 25th-anniversary issue and the full-color images reveal the legendary actress in bed wearing nothing more than a silk sheet. Along with the pics, the winning bidder will receive the 1959 Hasselblad 500C camera used to take the photos, along with two Carl Zeiss lenses (50mm and 150mm), and two magazine backs used during the original shoot. And as if that isn't enough, the winner gets an opportunity to host Douglas and Francoise Kirkland for dinner and have Douglas shoot their portrait with the camera.
