Maserati Ghibli Hybrid Sedan
For the first time in its 105 year history, Maserati is making an electrified car — the Ghibli Hybrid. Based on the Ghibli sedan, the unique mild-hybrid system utilizes a 48-volt electrical system to power an electric supercharger feeding the turbocharged, 2-liter four-cylinder. The electric-powered supercharger removes one of the drawbacks to supercharging — the blower itself no longer needs engine power to turn. This combines for a total of 330 horsepower and 331 lb-ft of torque, good for 0-62 in 5.7 seconds and on to a top speed of 158 MPH. The Ghibli Hybrid will also be the debut platform for Maserati Connect, an always-on over-the-air system for updates and performance data. A larger touchscreen and graphical tweaks to improve the user experience of Maserati's multimedia system come standard as well.
