With vast expanses of glazing and a U-shaped design, every room of the Maui Clifftop House is exposed to ocean views. The home is composed of a series of mini structures situated under ipe wood canopy. Each private unit is made of a bedroom and bathroom, connected by a central kitchen and dining area. The interior complements its natural seaside setting with a palette of stucco and bamboo plywood on the walls, floors, and ceilings. Externally, the folded pattern of the roof not only works with the climate's harsh winds and extreme sun but also helps the home's weathered wooden facade fade into the rocky landscape. Its oversized design creates double the living space, creating covered outdoor areas while acting as a wooden sky deck with some of the most stunning views on the island's northern coast.
