McIntosh MC451 Dual Mono Amplifier
For speakers that are capable of accepting different signals for high and low frequencies, bi-amping is a must to get the most out of them. McIntosh's MC451 Dual Mono Amplifier was designed with this scenario in mind. It employs Hybrid Drive technology, with a 150 Watt vacuum tube amplifier powering the highs and mids and a 300 Watt solid state amplifier driving the woofers. The front panel exposes the KT88, 12AT7, and 12AX7A tubes, which sit above the oversized DualView power output meter, while the back is home to Solid Cinch binding posts, crossover controls, and a pair of balanced inputs, one for each internal amp.
