Mercedes-AMG GT Track Series Coupe
55 years ago, former Mercedes engineers Hans Werner Aufrecht and Erhard Melcher founded AMG to forge racing engines. The attachment to their former employer grew over the years until Mercedes bought AMG outright in 2005. To celebrate AMG's history of high performance, 55 Mercedes-AMG GT Track Series cars will be built — the most powerful customer car ever offered by the three-pointed star. Starting with the GT Black Series, the GT Track Series takes tech from the GT3 and GT4 racing programs and distills it into a track-only machine powered by a hand-built 4-liter twin-turbo V8 making 778 horsepower and 627 lb-ft.of torque. A sequential Hewland six-speed gearbox with adjustable differential drives the rear wheels, with adjustable four-way Bilstein dampers and rollbars transmitting the power to the road. New carbon fiber bodywork has been wind tunnel sculpted, with a massive adjustable rear wing. Each car comes with technical training and support usually reserved for Mercedes-AMG professional motorsport customers and on-board telemetry to get the most out of every session.
