Mercedes‑Maybach S 580 e Sedan
Mercedes' drive toward electrification has made its way to the Maybach lineup with the brand's first-ever plug-in hybrid model, the S 580 e. The hybrid system is built around a 367 horsepower, turbocharged inline-six paired with an electric motor for a total output of 510 horsepower and 553 lb-ft of torque. The S 580 e hits 60 MPH in 5.1 seconds with a top speed of 155 MPH, or 87 MPH in fully electric mode. A built-in 11 kW charger is standard, with an option DC fast charger available as an option that can fully charge the car in just 11 minutes. Inside is the luxury expected of Mercedes-Maybach, with a center console dominated by a large touchscreen and digital gauge cluster. The S 580 e goes on sale first in China, followed by a staggered release to the rest of the world.
